Throughout my journey of becoming a nurse, I have developed my philosophy of nursing first based on my faith in God and his command to love and serve others as he has loved me, and second, my nursing education and experience gained during the clinical rotations in the last 16 months. I believe nursing is a calling that demands faithful dedication to compassionate, holistic care that respects the dignity of each individual while receiving quality care.
My strengths from the Clifton Strength Finder Assessment include learner, responsibility, connectedness, strategic, and relator. I desire to serve every patient professionally based on proven evidenced-based practice. Thus, as an active learner, I seek the most up-to-date medical and nursing information while I am privileged to care for patients and their families. I take the care of sick and injured very seriously, and pay attention to every detail to fulfill my responsibilities. I also value team work with patients, families, and the entire health care team. Patients have the full right to be involved in setting their health care goals and selecting interventions to achieve them.
As an advocate, I enjoy educating patients about their rights, health conditions, and strategic intervention to restore their health. As I continue my journey of becoming a family nurse practitioner, I will continue to learn new knowledge and grow in my experiences in order to help those who suffer. I aim to begin my career in the progressive care/telemetry unit with the hope of transitioning to the critical care unit within one year. I am committed to doing all I can to help my patient receive proper, well planned compassionate care.
